Thu Nguyen, Chairman of the Sacred Heart Church, in downtown Dayton, says they brought this tree in the sanctuary to help celebrate the Vietnamese New Year. It blooms only during this time of year, and they also place fruit and envelopes for the congregation, which they will, "take home for good luck," in the new year. The church service on Sunday morning, was followed by a celebration in the afternoon that he said would last until midnight.
